Workshops and Training in the Heart of Bristol’s Sporting Community

Underlying Themes
of the Programme

1. Training that includes everyone

Principle-based training standing the test of time

The Win the Day Corporate programme shares universal principles appropriate for all high-performance contexts and situations. From professional athletes to students, and high-performing CEOs. The content applies to all.

The programme moves away from self-help techniques and theories by focusing on unmoving principles of performance that can be accessed with ease by all at any time.

2. Learning from world-class athletes

Win the Day; and thumbs up from the best

The concept of Win the Day and the principles in the programme were born from Sam’s work with the professional footballer and long-standing client José Semedo. Their work celebrates the power of how focusing on accomplishing small yet profound challenges each day creates a sense of well-being and mastery in sport and in life. José’s performances dramatically improved from developing this mindset and it helped him support his teammates in similar ways.

3. Unlocking the power of Physical Activity at Empire Fighting Chance

Empire Fighting Chance is a charity grounded in grass-roots positive change that builds supportive and inspiring communities through sport. All of the workshops are delivered in the heart of Charity’s very diverse and spirited boxing community.

Sam was commissioned by Empire Fighting Chance to create a personal development programme called “Training with Champions” that could be adopted by all of the coaches within the charity and delivered to the young people they work with.

It seamlessly integrates Personal Development Principles into the non-contact boxing and mentoring the Charity delivers. The Win the Day content behind the Training with Champions programme is now being developed to reach out to new domestic and international communities.

Empire Fighting Chance’s world-class personal development programme

Empire Fighting Chance was born on Bristol’s streets to fight the impact of deprivation on the lives of young people.

Empire Fighting Chance reaches out to over 3000 young people a year helping them make healthy life decisions through confidence building and nurturing a positive relationship with their own minds.

Empire Fighting Chance teamed up with Sam to develop a personal development programme that is embedded in the non-contact boxing that is delivered to the young people in the charity. It ays testament to the universal and priceless knowledge and insights contained within Win the Day’s; Training with Champions programme.

At the heart of the personal development programme is the principle of clear-thinking and allowing unhealthy thoughts to move on by themselves without extra effort.

On February 2nd 2019 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited the Charity; to show support for their work within deprived Bristol communities. Prince Harry also praised the forward-thinking approach Empire Fighting Chance adopts towards mental health.

A Clever client in the spotlight

5 years ago Sam helped James Rendell set up his business and he continues to support Clever’s growth.

Clever-HR is a boutique recruitment firm working in industries ranging from Financial Services to Construction and Engineering.

Sam integrates his performance management principles into the service Clever provides to ensure both the candidate and the client get an unrivalled service. Through understanding the importance of cultural fit, supporting candidates prepare for their upcoming interviews, and supporting a positive transition into their new job; Clever draws on Sam’s expertise in a very practical way.

James Rendell also uses the performance management principles Sam teaches to build a cohesive and high-performing team. This has been achieved by helping the senior-management team make clear and focused decisions and develop a culture that focuses on taking productive action, rather than getting distracted by external results.

Now in its 5th year of trading, the company is on track to quadruple their turnover whilst retaining their values, maintaining a high level of workplace satisfaction, and finding the time to support the local community and charitable initiatives.

Mobius

It was a privilege to work with Mobius Works and deliver a thoughtful and active team-building day – alongside Matt Fenwick and Sophie Birch at Empire Fighting Chance.

An exploration of performance and experience in all walks of life. An enjoyable blend of mind and body work.

I think Mobius are a company to watch over the next few years. Their growing bank of innovative construction projects pays testament to their open, energetic, agile, and professional service. Wapping Wharf in Bristol!

Our team-building days tend not to follow scripts and as the day unfolded the conversation moved into a fresh and lively inward exploration on Nature of Mind.
A move away from strategies and quick fixes……towards exploration of universal knowledge that binds us all.

Thanks to Aarron Geis for his captivating photography. Great work!
More days to follow at the heart of Bristol.
